Fake News

Posted by Dr. Craig Christina on

Fake news has, sadly, become the norm in contemporary “journalism.” Someone starts a rumor or offers a false accusation. Because some in the media want a story to be true, they discuss it and repeat it even though there is no factual evidence to support it.

The news of Jesus’ resurrection was widely considered fake news. One disciple named Thomas said, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe” (John 20:25). A week later, when Jesus appeared again to the disciples, Thomas was there. Jesus asked Thomas to touch His scars, stop doubting, and believe. What transformed a

doubter into a believer? The truth.

This year, Easter falls on April 1st, or what is commonly known as “April Fools’ Day.” To many in our day, the resurrection of Jesus is still a joke, a prank, or fake news. What can transform these doubters? Only one thing. Will you pray about whom you will invite to worship on Easter? Tell them that doubters are welcomed to worship at Shiloh Terrace, then pray for them to meet Jesus Christ, the Truth.

Your servant in Christ, Pastor Craig
