Missions

Missions at STBC

Our desire to carry out the Great Commission of Jesus Christ as expressed in Matthew 28:16-20 and Acts 1:8. This is reflected by our involvement in the work of ministries both near and far. The Missions Ministry of Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church is divided into four teams.

Argentina Mission Team Update – March 12

  • “Today we went to iglesia Bautista hijo del rey. Temperature is 102F. Team is excited to serve! Please pray for weather to cool down and for energy as some of us still are experiencing jet lag.”
  • “Day 1 Today was our first day doing VBS and No More violence at Iglesia Bautista Hijo del Rey. We had lots of kids ask for bibles. Please keep praying for our group to have good health, energy, and disposition. The weather seems to be cooling down so that’s a praise. We are thankful for everything the Lord is doing through us and with us.”

  • “Day 2 The team had a fantastic devotional this morning talking about the mission that God has given to us, His disciples. The Holy Spirit was felt even though we did not speak the same language of the person teaching. The Lord is working in our hearts thoroughly. The heat is starting to go down. Now we are facing the challenge of a storm coming our way. Please pray that this storm does not interrupt our work here.”
  • “Day 3: What a day! We went earlier to the neighborhood where the church is and started knocking door to door to invite people to church. In our conversations, we met people who were praying to find a church, people who wanted prayer, and we had one girl accept Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior! We had a great community with the people at Iglesia Bautista Hijo del Rey and had a delicious meal for dinner. The team has been re-energized by the spirit! Praise God!
  • Day 4: We did the last day of VBS! We had a blast dancing with the kids, playing games, and learning about Jesus and His sacrifice for us! We also finished doing No More violence with the adults! It was fantastic to see their response to the lessons! Throughout the week we’ve talked about self-esteem, identity, communication, peer pressure, and how to be a peacemaker. God is doing great things! We now wait for Saturday where we will have an event for the community and will share the gospel with the neighbors!
